2 To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfil: 0 may it all my powers engage To do my Master's will.
3 Arm me with jealous care,
As in Thy sight to live, |
And 0 Thy servant, Lord, prepare A strict account to give.
4 Help me to watch and pray, And on Thyself rely, Assured, if I my trust betray, I shall for ever die.
Rev. Chakles Wesley, 1762

2 Thou know'st not which may thrive
The late or early sown; Grace keeps the precious germs alive When and wherever strown.
3 And duly shall appear
In verdure, beauty, strength, The tender blade, the stalk, the ear, And the full corn at length. |
4 Thou canst not toil in vain;
Cold, heat, and moist, and dry, Shall foster and mature the grain For garners in the sky.
5 Then, when the glorious end,
The day of God, is come, The angel-reapers shall descend, And Heaven cry, " Harvest Home." J. Montgomery, 1819 |
